Rigby football coach resignsBy Michael Lycklama • Nov 20th, 2012 • Category: Football, Lead Story, News
Rigby High School football coach Casey Faulkner resigned from his position last week.
Faulkner’s Trojans have posted a 4-29 and missed the playoffs in all four seasons during his tenure at the school.
Faulkner took his first head coaching job at Rigby at the start of the 2009 season. He previously served as a student assistant at Idaho State and the offensive coordinator at a pair of Arizona high schools.
Rigby athletic director Ted Anderson said the school is advertising the open coaching position nationwide and is looking for someone to turn around a program that hasn’t posted a winning season since 1999.
“We want to find somebody that preferably has some head coaching experience, particularly in a larger school,” Anderson said. “We’ll see what app we get. We have been struggling, so it has to be somebody to come in a pick up the pieces. I think Coach Faulkner and his staff have done the groundwork so whoever came is not coming in with the cupboards completely bare.”
