Bandits get 15th win in a row; July 14 Legion roundup

At Boulder, Colo., Brandon Bialas and Andrew Gregersen both went yard in a dominant win for the Idaho Falls Bandits on the third day of the Boulder Tournament.

Gregersen hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the first and Bialas hit a grand slam to cap off a five-run third inning for the Bandits in a 13-1 four-inning win over Batters Box White. The win was the 15th in a row for the Bandits.

Bialas went 3 for 3 with a double, home run, seven RBIs and two runs scored while Gregersen went 2 for 2 with a home run, four RBIs and a run scored for Idaho Falls (39-3).

After trailing 3-1 through three innings of game one, the Bees responded with 10 runs over the next four frames en route to the win. Dylan Virgil went 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored while Jordan Perez went 2 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

The Bees held a 1-0 lead through five innings of game two before both teams added runs in the final two innings. Idaho Falls broke through with a seven-run sixth inning. Dawson Fullmer went 2 for 4 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored while Virgil went 1 for 4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored for the Bees (26-12).

IDAHO FALLS TIGERS 17, SKYLINE GRIZZLIES 11; SKYLINE GRIZZLIES 8, IDAHO FALLS TIGERS 3: At Skyline High School, the Skyline Grizzlies split a Single-A American Legion baseball doubleheader with their cross-town rival.

The Idaho Falls Tigers got the better of the Grizzlies in game one, which ended with a combined 25 hits. The teams traded leads early, with the Tigers leading 4-2 through two innings and the Grizzlies gaining a 5-4 lead through three. A nine-run sixth inning for the Tigers broke an 8-8 tie and put them ahead for good. Braxton Ball went 2 for 4 with a double, five RBIs and three runs scored, Jackson Madsen went 2 for 3 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored and Trey Smith went 2 for 5 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored for the Tigers. Dustin Parkinson went 4 for 4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored while Cruz Taylor went 2 for 3 with a double and two runs scored for the Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies pounced early in game two, holding a 7-0 lead through three innings. The Tigers outhit the Grizzlies 8-5, but committed five errors. Nate Rose went 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored for the Tigers (17-17-1) while Mason Jacobson went 1 for 4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored for the Grizzlies (17-11-1).
