Bandits remain victorious in Colorado; June 29 Legion roundup

At Denver, the Idaho Falls Bandits Double-A American Legion baseball team had continued success on day two in Colorado.

Friday morning, the Bandits outlasted Aba Kuhn 4-2 in a game that featured a combined four hits and three errors.

Randon Hostert pitched the one-hitter for the Bandits, giving up two runs (one earned) while walking two and striking out 10 in seven innings. Caden White went 1 for 2 with a double while Bruer Webster and Alex Cortez each went 1 for 3 with a run scored.

The Bandits’ second game, which began at 8:45 p.m., did not conclude by Post Register deadline. As of 10:15 p.m., the Bandits led Lightning Blue 12-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning.

BLACKFOOT BRONCOS 5, MERIDIAN RANGERS 4: At Boise, the Blackfoot Double-A American Legion baseball team downed the Meridian Rangers in thrilling fashion on day two in Boise.

Benson Isom hit a one-out walkoff single to score Peyton Whitaker in the bottom of the seventh to give the Broncos the win. Blackfoot led 2-0 through three innings before the game became tied at 4-4 after six.

Isom finished 2 for 2 with an RBI, Whitaker went 3 for 4 with two runs scored and Emerson Stucki went 1 for 2 with two RBIs for Blackfoot (10-10-1), which plays again today at 11:45 a.m. and 5:15 p.m.
