Bandits win on first day in Colorado; June 28 Legion roundup

At Denver, the Idaho Falls Bandits Double-A American Legion baseball team rode an early lead en route to a dominating win over the Triple Crown Wolves.

The Bandits led 7-2 through two innings before the Wolves cut it to 9-3 through four. The Bandits scored seven runs in the final two frames to put the game away. Triple Crown committed six errors—two in the seventh inning—while Idaho Falls committed none.

Austin Shirley went 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs, Bruer Webster went 3 for 4 with two doubles, two RBIs and three runs scored and Tavyn Lords went 1 for 2 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored.

The Bandits (13-2-2) play again in Denver today at 11:45 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.

BISHOP KELLY BARONS 5, BLACKFOOT BRONCOS 2; HANFORD FLAMES 10, BLACKFOOT BRONCOS 9: At Boise, the Blackfoot Broncos Double-A American Legion baseball team dropped two games Thursday.

The Bishop Kelly Barons defeated Blackfoot earlier in the day, never surrendering the lead despite being outhit 10-8 by the Broncos. Cayden Cornell went 1 for 4 with a double and Joe Maddox went 1 for 3 with a double and a run scored for Blackfoot.

Later in the day, the Hanford Flames scored the game-winning runs on an error in the bottom of the seventh to defeat Blackfoot. Jerod Gough went 2 for 4 with a double and Maddox went 1 for 4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored for Blackfoot (9-10-1), which plays in Boise again today at 11:45 a.m.

Bonneville outhit Skyline 11-5 in game one and scored six runs in the first. Kai Howell went 3 for 4 with a triple, five RBIs and four runs for Bonneville. Korbin Bauer went 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI for Skyline.

Bonneville 10-runned Skyline in six innings in game two. Kolby Bird went 3 for 4 with a double, five RBIs and a run scored for Bonneville. Kempton Motes went 2 for 4 for Skyline.
