Hillcrest remains undefeated, Dec. 5 boys basketball round up

At Hillcrest, the Hillcrest High School boys basketball team’s undefeated season continued by beating previously undefeated Skyline 53-37 behind Jaxon Weatherly’s 16 points.

Hillcrest made seven 3-pointers in their fifth-straight win, including three from Derek Marlowe, to give the Knights their second 5-0 start in three seasons.

“The kids are really buying into our program and when they play team basketball, they are very fun to watch,” Hillcrest coach Dave Austin said.

The Knights led 47-27 after three quarters, as Jodus Bates had 12 points for the Grizzlies.

“They’re one of the better Hillcrest teams I’ve coached against,” Skyline coach Clint Cornish said. “They’re in midseason form right now.”

Hillcrest (5-0) will play Idaho Falls on Thursday while Skyline (2-1) will play Syracuse (Utah) on Friday.
