The Diggers also won without their head coach Shawn Freeman on the bench during the first half. Freeman said he’s suffering from a kidney stone and illness and didn’t coach until the second half.

“I felt bad for my kids. I didn’t want to draw attention to myself, but I wanted them to know I wasn’t going to bail on them,” Freeman said.

“Things we a little discombobulated in the first half, but they pulled through. I’m proud of them,” Freeman added.

Sugar-Salem led 33-28 at halftime.

Satchel Heinen and Coleby Hess added 15 points, respectively, for Teton.
