Shelley girls defeat Marsh Valley on the road

At Arimo, Shelley took a tight 45-43 nonconference win over Marsh Valley.

The Russets led 24-14 at halftime before the Eagles outscored them 13-4 in the third quarter to cut it to 29-27, prompting several lead changes and ties in the fourth quarter and some late-game heroics from Shelley.

“Jazmin Romero got a big offensive rebound on a foul shot and dished it to Ashleigh Ball for a bucket,” Shelley coach Shari Moulton said.

Ball had 13 points while Romero added 10 and Abbey Crandall had nine for Shelley (6-7), which begins Mountain Rivers Conference play tonight at Teton.
