Teton girls down Snake River in season opener

At Driggs, Teton began the 2017 season with a nonconference 8-1 win over Snake River thanks to goals from four players.

Sofie Graupner, Haley Janus, Hannah Wilson and Abbey Thomas each had two goals in for Teton, which led 4-0 at halftime.

“We had talked about that earlier that I’m expecting our center forward to get a lot of goals this year because of the way we play, but I’d prefer for our goals to be spread around,” Teton coach Sandy Buckstaff said. “After the game, they said ‘Hey, coach. We did what you wanted us to.’ We’re pretty excited about where we stand right now.”

Teton (1-0) hosts Marsh Valley at 11 a.m. Saturday.
