Bobcats hold off Tigers; April 18 softball roundup

At Tautphaus Park, a late-game rally by the Tigers fell short in a 7-5 loss to former 5A District 5-6 opponent Madison.

The Bobcats led 3-0 through three innings and 7-2 through five after a four-run fifth inning. Three of those four runs came from starting pitcher Carly Arnold, who hit a three-run home run.

“We had a slow start,” Idaho Falls coach Traci Wilkinson said. “By the time we decided to kick it into gear, it was a little late. We kinda struggled on the mound today as well.”

Natalie Fullmer went 2 for 3 with a double for the Bobcats.

Kerry Greene went 1 for 4 with a home run and Kaitlin Moss went 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI for

Idaho Falls (5-9, 3-1 4A District 5-6), which hosts Century on Thursday for a 4A District 5-6 doubleheader.
